Religious Education and Faith Formation
Children's Liturgy of the Word
For children ages 3 - 9 years old. Due to COVID19, we have temporarily suspended the in-person Children's Liturgy of the Word program. During the 10:30am Sunday Mass, children will be dismissed from the assembly before the readings from scripture to hear the Gospel at a level of understanding for them. They talk about its meaning for their lives, and enter into prayer with the other children gathered. The children will return to the assembly during the time of Presentation of the Gifts. St. Joseph Catholic Parish provides a vibrant religious education program for children kindergarten through 8th grade for students to Encounter, Grow and Witness their faith. Registration begins June 1st and continues through the summer, ending two weeks after the first day of class. Classes begin October through April and will be a combination of remote learning and in-person programs depending on the grade level for the 2020-2021 year in collaboration with Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish in Temperance. Families will work together at their own pace with their children to learn about our faith and see it in action through virtual-catechist led sessions and program packets which will be supplied to the families. Children must be registered to participate; a registration fee applies; see form for fee information. Registration forms can be printed and returned to the parish office with payment.
