Advisory Council
Core Purpose
The purpose of the St. Joseph Catholic School Advisory Committee is to support the Archdiocese of Detroit Moderator and principal in fostering a vibrant, sustainable, and faith-centered educational environment by offering guidance, expertise, and community representation in key areas.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
- Mission & Catholic Identity
- Promote and uphold the Catholic identity and values of the school.
- Ensure school initiatives align with the parish and diocesan mission.
- Strategic Planning
- Assist in long-term planning for enrollment growth, facilities, curriculum support, and Catholic formation.
- Review and support the school’s strategic plan or vision.
- Financial Oversight (Advisory Role)
- Review and advise on the school’s annual budget, tuition models, and fundraising strategies.
- Support financial sustainability and stewardship.
- Institutional Advancement
- Assist in marketing, alumni outreach, development, and enrollment management.
- Be ambassadors for the school in the broader community.
- Policy Support
- Advise on school-level policies (not personnel or day-to-day operations).
- Support consistent application of diocesan and school policies.
- Principal Support
- Celebrate school leadership and offer counsel as requested.
