1st Grade

Welcome to Finn-tastic First Grade!

Hello! My name is Allison Finn and I am the first grade teacher at this phenomenal school! We are The Finn-tastic First Graders! I live in Temperance, MI with my husband (Sean), our two daughters (Evelyn and Alayna), a dog (Ranger), and a chinchilla (Chilly). I have had the honor of teaching first grade, at St. Joseph Catholic School, since 2018. I graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and earned my Elementary Education Certification from Schoolcraft College, in Livonia. My family and I are also parishioners, here at St. Joe's, and we are involved in many of the church ministries.

I am not only blessed with the privilege of teaching at St. Joe's, but I am also a parent here, as well. My oldest daughter is a 2021 graduate and my youngest is currently in fifth grade. I can personally attest that each and every teacher in this school is dedicated to growing the potential of their students in faith, knowledge, and abilities. I could not have chosen a better school, for my daughters, than St. Joe's.



Teaching at St. Joe's has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life! The strong parent support, faith based education and amazing school leadership has given me the foundation to be the best educator, that I can be, for your children. My goal is to inspire my students to be more than they ever thought that they could be. In my classroom, we are a family. Our main mission is to work together, lift each other up, and make ourselves the best disciples of Jesus that we can be. While we know that our job in life is to spread the light of Jesus, my class is also dedicated to working hard, making a positive contribution to our school, and to our church. We take part in hands on learning and experiments, learn invaluable life skills, and promote personal growth each day. I am honored to be able to spend my day with my students and I thank each parent for making the decision to entrust their most precious gifts into my care every day!
